Mount Bierstadt is one of the most accessible 14ers near Denver — and because of that, it’s often described as “easy.”

But anyone who has stood on its summit knows better.

This peak was my first 14er climbed entirely under my own power. It became more than just a high point — it became a benchmark. A reminder that preparation matters, conditions matter, and the high alpine deserves respect.

From the sweeping views across the Front Range to the raw exposure above the treeline, this summit marked a starting line for bigger climbs and deeper purpose. I hope this image captures a piece of why I keep going back.
